Rear Rattle Tailgate - Mk1 172

Hello! :rasp:

I have a Mk 1 172. The car had a persistant rattle in the tailgate area. It drove me nuts. I replaced the rear wiper arm and blade - but no success. Thought it cold be the seat belts, but no. Parcelshelf? - no!

Eventually I took the trim off the inside of the tailgate and noticed that the electronics, and some of the wires were free to move around. So I fixed it better to the inside of the tailgate with some duct tape and this seems to have rectified the problem.

I had a similar thing. Reall loud annoying rattle. Eventuall oiled the hinges and it's never come back!

Mine does this, but only because the exhaust makes everything inside vibrate.
