REAR SPRINGS

Just had my exhuast looked at by Renault because it was blowing and another garage told me a weld had gone. They have told me thar a rear spring has snapped! Anyone herd of this happening? car is 3yrs old in april 30k now. The car seems to drive fine, cornering etc no probs.

my rear drivers side looks a little lower than the passenger side now you mention your back springs, i'll need to have a look. and trys me to notice it once its out of warrnaty, doh!

jack the rear up and have a look and shake, due to the shape of the rear springs on the clio, you might be able to rip it out

If you dont believe them, as them to show you the snapped spring ?

Car wil still be under warranty is it ? try get them to replace if FOC ?

My rear spring snapped - it's due to water collecting and rusting the ends (I think)

You dont even need to jack it up mate. Get on the floor and look at it! You can see the rear springs from the back of the car!

Amazes me when people post threads and ask questions without even looking.

might aswell jack it up, if its snapped it should be loose and come apart when jacked up. Could look fine when down

It does happne theres quite a fe bad springs out there its a famous fault with springs of a certain age.

Yea Renault have sed they will cover under warranty. I have looked since it was in the garage and it is snapped toward the bottom. booked in for friday to get it fixed as well as the exhaust changed bcoz the blowing is due to a faulty weld. I was jst wondering if any1 had experienced similar things on a car under 3yrs old - hence me starting the thread Riddick.
