Rear wheel bearing gone?

I got a funny sound on the A303 today...

It can only be described as a humming sound (very similar to track-day rubber), coming from the rear.

A few twitches of the steering (at speed) got rid of it.

Any ideas?

Jack it up and spin it, check for play in the wheel...

my rear hums from time to time but i think thats down to diet :O
