Recaro 197 seats in a mk2

Took alot of messing about but finally got my 197 seats fitted how I want them.

I wanted a lower seating position than standard so they needed alot of adapting to get them low enough.

Ended up chopping up the 197 recaro frames and welding them onto universal seat rails which then bolt onto Jon foz subframes.

Seating position is now spot on for me and they tilt forward and slide back and forth nicely picture below shows the height difference compared to the standard passenger seat which has the spacers under the seat removed.

And a few pictures with both fitted to the car

And a few pictures of the mounts before they got painted..

Cheers! Not sure on having too much racing blue in the interior, already painted the door pulls black as the blue was abit much ?

Haha just about.. I'm over 6 foot but any shorter and they'd need raising up a little for sure

Lovely seats and great install, its just they seem to wear faster than a set of F1 Super Soft tyres.
A leather set would be lovely

Mine tilt but don't tilt and slide like standard seats do. But I reckon I can get it to work.

They look really well fitted! And yeah they hold you in so much better too, I'm paranoid about getting in and out of atm as the bolsters have no wear on them but I can see how easy it is to wear them as they are very high!

No difference in rear leg room really, just need to slide the seat forward before tilting as you lose the mechanism that does both to get them to fit

No they are slightly different, more like a Cs Cross sportster seat.

No worries! yep slide forward and back..

All the way back (seat hits the rear bench and you'd have to have legs like a basket ball player to need them this far back)
