reg plates

Car  clio 182 sport
just wondering if this has heppened to anyone else. ive got a private plate on all legally spaced digits and on the side a renault badge. i got a letter through of police saying it didnt conform with standards. cut a long story short it was because of the badge. had to buy new plates blank ones send in the receipt and a photo crazy.

Can only agree with the above. It is all correct regarding the plates. After your warning, you can get your plates seized and returned to the DVLA and have to re-purchase them. You technically rent them from the DVLA

just looked back at the legal pressed ones and realised they dont have a flag on just makers name at bottom. My Mistake!

so does this included our french friends or can you get away with this?

Nope french plates are illegal as well.

Well, im sad, i watched various DVLA videos and one of them was highly interesting.

Cars predated 2000 ARE LEGALLY allowed to have Pressed plates, so long as they conform to regulations and have a Valid Postcode of where they were made, full E marked reflective rear and valid spacing and official UK lettering and font.
Cars after this date are classed as ILLEGAL and pressed plates are non tollerated.
