Removing 172 front ABS sensors...

  340i
How on earth do people remove them from the hub without destroying the thing?!

Any help much appreciated...

You can't. Its a constant in the universe like gravity that they'll break.

Would say the best bet would be hub off the car, lube and gently knock them out from the other side.

Oh, the hubs are both off the car!

I've removed one by smashing the sensor to bits.. Pikey.

But I need to keep the other sensor...

I cannot even remove the bolt securing the sensor in place!

I've got a spare set of hubs I am building up for a car, new bearings, cleaned up etc.

but I will need to remove the ABS sensors and re-fit them on the spare hubs :(

I tried for a few hours once, wasn't happening.

I was the same, camping friend.

I had the master plan of refurbishing these hubs and swapping the ABS sensors etc. over onto the car... This is not going to happen!

Looks like I was foolish in thinking the screw/bolt holds them in lol tried to do mine with a set of adjustable grips and left it in the end - properly wedged in.
