It doesn't give you any more bhp but I think the torque increases. Because the engine has less mass to rotate then if you remove the ac the it's like having a lightened flywheel, so the engine will go up the rev range quicker.
Ah ok, I was speaking with someone who said the less auxillaries on the engine the more power they tend to make....probably meant power steering etc as well
