Removing dents.

On the Roof of my clio (bare shell) it has loads of Nail kinda dents. Like smaller then 2mm And are just like a nail has been put behide and hit.
Whats the best way to remove them ?
Would it be a case of using a panel beating hammer with a flat Weight under the dent.
