mates 1.2 16v has threw a belt, so im taking the head off it tomorrow to inspect the valves and take it from there, never whipped the head off one before, assuming its pretty easy but anything to look out for?

im assuming its pretty easy, inlet manifold off, top engine mount off, jack engine up, cambelt off, exhaust manifold off, head bolts out and then off with the head?

You may need to remove the camshaft and rocker arms to gain access to the headbolts as the rocker arms are quite big.

Easy as you like. No need to take the rockers off iirc. Get a gasket set not just a head gasket too.

cheers dude, what does the gasket set include? head, inlet mani, exhaust mani? anything else?

is it required to use new headbolts on these engines or is it just good practice?
