Removing Rear Arch linings

To lower the back on 17s considerably everyone talks of takin out the rear arch liner. When they say this do they mean the bit that covers the bumper from filling with crap from the tyre?? If so, isnt there some kinda resivoir behind the right hand one?

Someone please explain to me!

You are talking about the right bit yes, but you would need to lower a 16v veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery low to need to remove the rear liners!!

Well its lowered 35mil and when i have 4 big blokes in the car it scrubs so i want rid!

Am i right in sayin theres a little resivoir behind one of them?

So i can i just unscrew them?
