renault clio 1.2 16v springs

hello cliosport, i am looking to buy springs for my renault clio 1.2 16v (MARK 2). my first question is are they easy to fit diy? and also if i get 60mm will i have to replace my shocks & after replacing shocks will i incur any problems with fitting 60mm as i know thats pretty low, also will i be able to clear majority of speedbumps.

As a rule if your going to put 60mm springs in place of your standards you'll want to get better shocks. The ride will be very crashy and rough on standard shocks and you'll probably ruin them. You'll be able to get over speedbumps at 60mm, but why not look into coilovers? There a plenty on the market for 1.2 16v mk2's. You'll be able to adjust to a height that suits you and you wont have to worry about shocks and springs. I lowered first on springs on my old 1.2 and then moved to coilovers, which I found alot better.

ok thank you for your help . i was going to do coilovers first but then i thought its only a 1.2 16v, i may aswell wait untill i upgrade my car/engine then buy coilovers for a car with a decent size engined so for now as a cheap option i am going for lowering springs + shocks. but thank you for suggesting

well a set of springs/shock can cost the same if not more as a set of cheaper coilovers, I spent £160 on rokkor/raceland coilovers

Yeah, coilovers are easier than springs because you take the whole lot out. You will need to get all your alignment done though once you've fitted them.

awryt no problem yeah thats fine i need to get my car tracked anyway think a trackrod ends gone lol so i'll be replacing them aswell
