I heard from a good source Jeremy Townsend of Renault nicked one for himself and loves it. That's coming from a V6 and 197, lol, its supposed to be a VERY, VERY good engine.

Drives well We've had one for ages think it came in May? Consumption and tax bracket better than 1.4/1.6 but sits between them in terms of power. Will be interesting to see it's potential.

Meant to be power of 1.6, consumption of 1.4 and tax bracket of a 1.2, or something like that.

100bhp is 1.4 power surely. Although more torque which will give it better acceleration than the 1.4.

I rekon you are right, it'll be the lower tax and the feel good issue of the lower emmisions to the environment which will draw the punters in coupled with the slight gain in performance provided by the turbo.

To make it popular with enthusiasts more potential for much more performance would need to be released.
Just how tunable these engines are I am not sure though, they have an 'overboost' feature so possibly you could trick the ECU into overboosting all the time but who knows how long the unit will last then. Perhaps a larger turbo?
Give it a couple of years and the upgrades will no doubt start to surface.
