Well hey everyone, im a new (well one year old but new to me) Clio Cup owner. Got it 2 days before new years day and im mighty pleased with it!
Wish this was a happy post, and i wish id found this forum sooner! The reason being renault dealers!
Was out in the yorkshire dales doing what i think most renault drivers do on country lanes, when after a bout 20mins i heard a squealing from the drivers side wheel. So got out and went to see what it was, put my hand near the wheel and it was bloody hot, the brake disk was sizzling. the other side was warm, but not really hot. So rang the garage that i used to use with my old car and they said sounded like a stuck caliper. As it is still under warranty thought id book it into renault to get it sorted, thinking if its a sticking caliper that would come under warranty. Anyhow to cut a long story short, picked it up this evening thinking id have no bill to pay, but it turns out it was just a build up of muck on the pads, and that was causing the heat. And how much did they charge for cleaning????? 62 of my hard earned pounds!
Flipping heck! Thats for 0.98 of an hours work! My local garage charges £32!Rant Over!
Anyhow, i look forward to learning more about my car on this site in the future.
