Renault Insurance, complete joke.

  172, Tiguan

Got my renewal letter through today (after expecting and budgeting for it in June-lol), any way they quoted me £795.95 for the years renewal.

23 years old, Cup 172, 5 yrs NCB, 12 k a year, But i do have a 3rd party hit my vehicle claim out standing from 3yrs ago, that is still being faffed around with by the solicitors - but i degress.

As this is about 60 quid more than i was told it would be, i thought id try Tesco online, who quoted me £685, some £110 better and £100 less on the excess.

I then telephoned Reno insurance stating the position - saying that id been with them 3 yrs, never made a claim and wold like to stay with them - and asked could they match Tesco and id renew there and then.

I then got told no way could they match, they wouldnt budge, they couldnt even change their price, im like wtf! surely they can move a bit! She said no youve been quoted £795, thats what youll have to pay - in a rude arrogant manor. So i said well i wont be renewing with you then and put the phone down. I was fuming! so much so that im tempted to write a letter as long as this post, lol!

Anyway ill shop round a bit, but doubt anyone will match Tesco. This just proves another part of the Renault brand totally inept at providing any form of customer service, even to a loyal customer.

Yes.

Tesco dont just do a windscreen replacement service like normal insurers do, but they cover every window in your car. Now thats gotta be worth something!

And no I dont work for Tesco!

They also will pick u up from the scene of an accident, take you home & arrange for you car to be collected, saving you the costs of having the Police tow it away and change lots of dosh for doing so.

£1150 is quite good. Im same age as you, when I just passed my test I was charged £1400 Fully Comp for a brand new 1.4 Dynamique. And that was the lowest I could get, I tried bout 50 companies!! Next year Ill have more choice and it will be around £675 fully comp!

im with directline. ent allowed to mod my car though. said they wouldnt insure me if i did. so ive only got a spoiler for the moment. i am 18 and for my 1.2 clio fully comp it cost me £1300, bit much but other copmanies were asking for around 3 grand, what a joke.

easy people. im 20 just passed my test. i been quoted £1400 with tesco but then surprisingly direct line quoted £1300 (tpft). this is on a 1.4 1997 s maxim. Ive tried about 10 or 11 others who all quote £1900. So looks like direct line it is :p

Its amazing just how much insurance quotes differ from companies on different people .I bought my first clio sport on March 1st & found at the time that Tesco was the cheapest so went with them but then i started reading these forums & read about elephant in another thread ,got a quote out of curiosity & turns out i could have saved £50

£50 may not sound much of a saving but i thought £325 for fully comp on a brand new 172 wasnt bad )

im an old fart

worth a try ,i just got a quote online ,thats with full NCB + no convictions over last 5 years + its garaged at night ,i thought i was doing well at £375 fully comp through Tesco lol
