RenaultSport Clio V6 in Liquid Yellow - Zaino Enhancement Detail

  Megane R26
This booking was in fact supposed to be a Lotus Exige S but was changed at the last minute to a RenaultSport Clio V6 in Liquid Yellow - some of you may remember this from my write up on it earlier in the year:

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=257208

The owner wanted it looking its best again and wanted me to spend some time on the boot area specifically and wanted the protection topping up - the Crystal Rock was long gone, but the Z2 and Z8 which the owner has been applying was still present and going strong.

Onto the detail - a few befores:

Wheels, calipers, tyres and arches were up first:

Citrus Power used on the tyres - amazing cleaning power!

That's with no agitation!

Smart Wheels used on the face of the wheel with another VP brush:

and the calipers with G101:

Rinsed:

DSC09360 by RussZS, on Flickr

Much better, but we still had some tar deposits and brake dust pitting, so out came the IronX:

Next the car was foamed with the new Valet Pro Advanced Neutral Snow Foam:

DSC09318 by RussZS, on Flickr

My pressure washer's hose cable had split so pressure/flow rate was reduced so the thickness of the foam wasn't as it should be, but it was cleaning power I wanted to assess here:

Next G101 was used to work around the more intricate areas of the car:

Next the car was rinsed and attention was turned to the boot (which is at the front of course :D )

The afters come later - I was fighting a battle against the increasingly hot Sun so was pushed for time on pics.

Next the car was hand washed with the Zaino Bucket System, Z7 and a CarPro Mitt:

After rinsing, IronX was used to remove any fallout present on the paintwork:

Much better than last time :)

DSC09382 by RussZS, on Flickr

Oblitarate was also used to remove any tar.

Next the car was moved inside to begin the claying process which would remove any remaining contamination from the paintwork:

Auto Finesse Clay was used with Auto Finesse Glide as lube:

and after - nothing too serious:

7753469264_15a79e353e_z.jpg

DSC09391 by RussZS, on Flickr

Next the car was fully dried with a combination of CG Wooly Mammoth drying towels and a blower:

DSC09392 by RussZS, on Flickr

The paint was inspected next and was in great condition - a real credit to the owner. A light machine polish was still required to knock out some very light defects and also to improve gloss levels.

I used the Rupes LHR15E with the lightest polish and pad combo:

After:

After machining, I turned my attention to some of the more intricate areas on the car:

Lots of tar present under the bootlid!

Oblitarate and an MF was used to remove:

Probably too many photos there, but I love this colour!!!!

Once again, an absolute pleasure to work on - I have a real soft spot for these cars!!

I also got to drop this car off back to the customer - what a great noise it makes!

Thanks for reading :)

Since DW is fucked. Lovely stuff Russ. Sone of those afters are jaw dropping! Certainly don't need Asda lights to show it off!

Indeed, thank you :)

I'm sick of all of the hypocritical bitching I get about stuff now, THEN see the same person 'borrowing' the same concept a few months later - great world is detailing! :)

  Megane R26
Thanks all :)

It's a shame it didn't need more machine work really, would have made for a more complete write up but you can't really photograph what a finishing polish does

Looks incredable, i could at endless pics of your work. Certainly inspiring me to do a session too :) top work.

Do tell?!

Finish is superb as per, mate.
