Just found this text describing how to replace a cambelt... :
--
First you need to locate the alternator just under the cam belt, drivers side bottom of the engine. From here theres 2 bolts up the top which need to be removed so the alternator can swivel thus loosening the old belt, remove the old belt, put new one on and pull alternator back so new belt is tight. Then redo bolts and hey presto. You may need a second person to hold the alternator tight to make life a bit easier.
--
Is this right?
I thought the cambelt was hidden out of view?
Exscuse me if these are dim questions but i know very little about clios (1.2 1996/7)
