RIP Clio 172 Cup

The clio cup I stripped has now been taken away... they decided to cut it up to take it away lol... The result of a back yard mechanic doing timing wrong...

Bought a new top end for £50, set of megane pistons for free. Rebuilding top end in couple of weeks. Got a friend making me a tubular turbo manifold. Sorting it out for 6 speed and dropping it in my mk1 clio. Before anyone says 'you should have just fixed the cup' for the millionth time, MY INSURER DOESN'T ALLOW IT!

Its a 2l 172bhp engine... I'm 19 with no no claims... its expensive enough on my diesel. Every quote I ever got on a 172 was like £3000 with the cheapest at £1500 with one of those box things.

So why not repair the cup then? If your tracking it, it doesn't need to be insured.

I wouldn't risk my license or money/labour on not declaring the mod if it was road legal. I've seen far too many idiots on here not declaring engine swaps, a bit stupid dont you think?

I like my mk1 to much, I'm not a huge fan of mk2 clios

I also gave the person my word I would strip it, as he was a friend who did not want to see it driven around again. Ah well I made cash on it which was my main aim
