Ripped the engine apart today, here are my findings

Car  206,172 Cup,focus,X5
The engine has only 66k but nether the less with what im doing to the car I want to make sure the engine is good and up to scratch

This is what I found

Bore looked and felt lovely , no lip at all , head gasket looked good as well

Just have a couple question

1. Did the 172 come with a MLS head gasket as standard ?

2. Are the piston oil jets press fit ? how do they come out ?

Here are my measurements

Bore : 82.50mm
Big Ends: 48.00mm
Main Ends: 54.80mm how do these look ?? pretty standard ??

With the cams that I took out are they just standard Renault cams ?

2. Yes they're press fit on the bore squirters

Iirc there's an official Renault tool that can remove and refit them

always the bloody way. Ive read up u can use some pliers to take them out but if they get chewed up its £50 for a set !!!!

Its gonna cost a small futune to replace all the bottom end bolts. Gonna go ARP for the big end i think.
