Rolling road tune on an older car

My 172 Cup has 125k on the clock. It’s got weird history (1.5k in the last 11 years) but has just had a major service (belts, dephaser etc). There’s no doubt it needs a tune so I’m wondering, what other prep should it have before an RR tune?

And can you recommend somewhere near to Manchester who does it?

Assuming currently running ok, eml not on and assume its had oil and filters done already. Maybe a set of plugs if unknown age.

EfiParts is the place to go.

Just had new plugs, oil and filters with the service.

I read that the fuel filter is in the tank and not accessible.

Well, added to the list of jobs and it’s one I’d do as it looks fairly straightforward to do.

Any recommendations for which fuel pump to fit as there’s lots on the market from different suppliers?

had mine done 2 years ago on about the same millage, belts and dephaser were due. I found a set of 197 cams and had them done @ Birchdown along with belts. Mapped at EFI in runcorn.

191.4bhp and 170lbs/ft
It done a few Cadwells and Oulton parks since :)

Cars booked in at EFI on Tuesday. It starts first time every time but seems to lack punch. After about 1000k driving mostly around town (average of 18mph!) its giving me 39mpg. That suggest its running a tad lean as my first (new) Cup was around 34. Lets hope after 127k it can make close to original power.

Place your bets! I'm going for 167bhp (hopefully)

Car went into EFI today to be mapped for 95RON fuel. On the first run it made 155bhp (yikes). The knock sensor was knackered and so it was changed. Chris then got 162bhp out of it. The exhaust was a bit suspect as it sounds a bit loud and he thought maybe the baffles are on their way out. However, after the mapping was complete he got 168.2bhp out of a 127k engine. I was very happy with that result and driving home the car felt great and throttle response was excellent.

Now on with everything else it needs! I'm not trying to get this car mint as it'll cost too much, but I am trying to get it decent for a 21yo car. I'll have to do an update soon on whats been done.

I know. Just a joke. 97/98 cost more and i'm lazy and usually fill up at Asda at 1am after a shift. Given that the car is for road use only and won't be having any mods I just wanted to keep things basic. Personal choice and all that.
Thank God for that. I had a mate who used to stick octane booster in his 206 every time he filled up and swore blind his car was faster because of it 🤣
