Rounded off Torx bolt.

Angry.
Brought a new set of brake discs and brake pads on ebay for £15, luckiest man in the world.
Until I saw what the previous owner done to one of the torx bolts holding the brake pad on. I've tried hammering in a bigger Torx bit, but it just chewed up the bit. I hammered in a flathead bit and it gripped well but it just gets pushed out. Same for the alan key. Guess how ****ed up it is now.

Help please?

Screwdriver and a hammer.

Smack the s**t out of the bolt before you undo it.

Drill, ive had to do loads and leave mine out as its so much hassel trying to remove them. get a good 240v drill with a decent metal cutting bit and each side should only take 15mins max to do.

  FOR SALE!!!
can you get mole grips on them they work wounders we use them all the time at work for rounded off bolts and screws

Just drill the head of the screw and you will then get the disc off and after that you can probably get the rest of it out with mole grips/pliers. When refitting a new one either copper grease it up, or leave it off as really there isn't any need for them.

drill with a large bit... once the head is seperated and the disc removed it will be protruding from the hub... just get some mole grips on the remainder of the bolt.

Ive got a similar problem, I cannot remove my calipers because the abs sensor torx bolt is completly buggered.

Just drill the head as Josh said. It's easy after that. You don't actually 'need' the disc retaining bolts, they just make life easier whaen changing the wheels.

That's a different issue entirely. I couldn't remove my abs sensor even with the bolt removed.

Is your sensor not on the hub? Why not just trace the wire back behind the arch liner and split the plug?
