Once you have an iPod media player, you'll never look back. Add a parrot handsfree kit, and you're laughing. Music, sat-nav, phone calls, voice dialling all coming through the speakers as required. Brilliant.

the sale is the "i-music festival"

0% is with nil deposit and discounts over 3 years and 4.
5 years is full list price.

Not available on RS or "extreme" models

  LY 200
^if it's not available on RS models why do I have a letter in front of me now stating 'plus we now have 0% APR (in big f**k off letters) typical over 3 years on the Renaultsport range' then?

Confuzzled.

  Nimbus 197
i think url find its the I.woteva models.. i got the letter to.. plus why wud u wanna get a 200 when u have a NIMBUS!!!

When i went in to my local dealer to enquire about a twingo rs they were only offering 0% finance on brand new cars and with a delivery date of mid april.

I think the 0% means you get zero discount. List price FTL.

Stops me buying something I shouldn't! Lol.

Renault Banbury offered me 0% not long after they'd first come out. Plus scrappage scheme... but yes, list price, and then all their silly extra's on top of that price (they tack all those things on the bottom?!) meant it was closer to 400 a month from memory. Too steep for a Clio (in my eyes, compared to my cost of living etc). Would love one though, if Richard could sort me a deal id consider... ha ha.

Im not gonna be buying one Megs! It was just a heads up for anyone thinking of buying a new RS in the furture thats all!

I would like to see them try and say i couldnt have it when i have the letter to prove it (with no silly key stars for restrictions in the small print) which i would of course take with me!

I can scan and post the letter if thats what it takes as 'proof' im not telling porkies! lol

All dealers are different I'd imagine. If one dealer in particular sells a lot of RS then they're more likely to comply and offer all the routes to market for the RS range to get as many sales possible. If one dealers core market isn't in RS then they don't know jack s**t about it and probably won't know the deals Renault might offer.

My local dealer never has any RS models in, well, except pre-owned, no brand new models for demos or in the showroom, therefore I would expect to walk in there and be offered a pretty crap deal.

Just out of interest, for the 0% finance deal, what is the level of invoice value discount to the finance company? Ie does Renault direct cover the interest charges or is that a dealer matter?

PM me if you like, im not interested in buying a new Renault, but as an finance broker who runs 0% finance programs for IT vendors, it would be interesting to see how they compare :)

0% on list is stupid and pointless.

spec up the car to 19k, take the '0%' over 3 years. Car should have been discounted to 15,5k-16k anyway, so youv in effect paid 3k in interest or pointless costs anyway, so totally stupid.

My local dealer deals predominantly in RS models so always have alot in stock but this is a 'Toomey' headed letter so im sure if you find a Toomey dealership they will comply without any questions.

If what the above says is correct its only 'list price' if the policy is taken out over 5 years so its irrelivant as who the funk would want to take it out over 5 years anyway!?

facts are the discount will be neglible and s**t, so youd be better organising a comparison for the 0% finance and your own finance deal.

THEN see what stacks up better.

  LY 200
Fact is you dont take it if the discount is s**t!

Just go in and see what can be done for you maybe rather than having the 'cant do' so wont ask attitude!? ;)

Don't think they're up here.

Where I bought the 182 are specialist RS dealers, but I think they're the only one around here. And probably a single dealership in Hartlepool, they had an RS in the showroom.

Not fussed TBH, guess it's a good deal for anyone looking to buy a new one. But the deal you get will depend how much flexibility they have - which in some cases isn't a lot!

I still think it depends on who your dealing with and how far they think they have to go to get a deal out of you!

I was offered a showroom 200 (very desirable colour and a fair spec) for 14k aswell as a very good trade on my 182 at the time not so long back and i know another member off here got a good deal on his 200/182 trade in at another dealership in the area!

There are good deals to be had.

I got offered a good one on a white FF (recaro's, chassis, speedlines, few more extras) when they first came out, it wasn't registered or anything, I did a thread. Still, some dealers are a) stubborn and don't give a f**k about a deal b) some don't know their product they're selling which can be good and bad in terms of running circles around then but on the other hand they won't budge on what they're told to sell it at.

Swings and roundabouts. There's people on here who've paid full price. I'd never, ever do that - common sense would say go elsewhere. Someone would be guaranteed (pretty much) to match a trade-in price.

Read in autocar/autoexpress in whsmith today (can't remember which it was) about 0% deals on 200's at £200/month payments with the whole lump sum or hand the car back business at the end.

  rs 200
got my clio rs 200 on order with cup suspension option and metalic paint for £800 deposit and £210 a month for 24months after that i will hand it back and get something else.

they are nice cars, but i dont get this sort of set up, you basically pay £5,840 and get nothing in return. I suppose its basically car hire with a deposit.

  Meg 250/E36 Touring
0% Finance is available on all Clio RS 200's with NIL deposit (subject to status) and available over 36 months on orders between between Jan and March 2011.

You can have a discount, however it is not as big as the CASH or PCP route.

In 2010, PCP for the majority has been the best value purchase route (due to big discounts and low APR's) However this is changing for 2011.

Get nothing ? You get to have a brand new car for two years, and then hand it back, no hassle.

Or you could buy a brand new one for say £16k, and sell it for £10k in two years. Yet you have the hassle of selling it etc.

You're only really paying for the depreciation but as you say Justin - avoiding the hassle of selling it and worrying about reliability etc!

Id seriously consider it

^Aye. Saying that, you could just buy a two year old one, and miss the depreciation. Definately they way to buy a new one though.

but then to buy a 2 year old one if you didnt have the money you would need a 10 k loan

which is £200 a month for 5 years, and for that you could have a new car every 2 years on pcp

it is the only way i'd have a new car

A 2year old one was working out roughly the same on finance/bank loan as a brand new one! + nearing the end of warranty and having 20-30k on it!

For me its a no brainer as I need a reliable car (lol @ buying french) to get me to work. No car = no work = no money.

Small price to pay tbh.

Sorry, what I meant was, if you buy a used two year old one for £10k, you'll lose less over the next two years on depreciation, obviously.

Saying that, new cars also have their positives and negatives aswell. Depends what you want.
