rs2 inlet fitting question

  Breaking 172 NV676
Fitted my jms rs2 inlet everything seems ok except a couple of things.

1. The injector that needs turning round due to the mount being in the way - its normally held in with a little metal clip that goes into a holr in the injector. With it turned around there's no little hole for the clip to sit in. Is that ok?
2. There is a pipe thatused to go to the upper inlet manifold just next to the throttle body. Where should this connect?
Thanks

1. - yes thats fine. When my mrs installed our RS2 she spun all the injectors as it looks neater.

2. - not sure which pipe you mean?

Here is ours if its any help:

Only pipe I can think of not very visible in that one is the servo pipe which goes into the back of the manifold into a 90 degree push fitting.
Unless you mean the beather pipe, which isnt connected on the RS2, it should go to an external catch tank or a filter.

Yes, it a small pipe and goes down to where the acoustic valve is.

Ill leave it tied up for the moment and take it out when its back in the garage in a few weeks.

CHIP - have you had yours mapped? does it make a incredible difference from unmapped to mapped?

Ive mapped mine yes, it was quite lean at the top end which isnt a good idea to leave as it could easily lead to one of the F4R chocolate pistons failing between the ring lands.

I wouldnt recomend ANY significant modification to an F4R without a remap.

Ours has 197 cams too though so was even more important to do.

I remember mike saying mine was very lean at top end as well before mapping.

-J- lucky you didnt melt it given that you were driving it around like that for quite a while!

It's ok, was off road with a fucked gearbox most of the time it was unmapped.

1- when I spun our injectors around for our custom inlet manifold I spun the clip too. That away the injector hole still lines up with the clip. Only the tang is missing then on the fuel rail that the clip keeps aligned on. Swings and round abouts really. After the rail is bolted down the injectors going nowhere.
