Towed it to my mums house today so it's a bit closer to me. It is only 1/4 a mile up the road, but its half a mile I don't have to walk to mess around with it.
When I got it back I charged the battery ready to have a mess around.
The metering head I put on definitely worked so I could rule that out. It was suggested that the fuel ecu might be a problem but because I don't have access one and don't have any cash to get one tonight I thought I'd have a look at the engine earths because this was suggested on passionford when I searched.
Had a look at the earth strap to the gearbox and it was fine. Had a look at the earth wire on the drivers side of the head and the wire was tucked underneath something It looked like it was connected at a glance but it was just tucked under. Got a pic of it, I scratched some paint off at hole on the body and bolted it on.
I kept messing around looking for stuff to try and get it going. I randomly disconnected the two pin connector on the side of the metering head and tried cranking it. Managed to get some pressure finally!!
I did quite a few things before I tried cranking it so it may have been a combination of things but I can't pin point what I did. Any way it will start now and run for a couple of seconds. The starter has got fairly hot though and is turning a bit slowly. I am going to let it cool down over night and give it a go in the morning.
If it starts it will be going for a test tomorrow. I can't wait to drive it after all this messing around. The previous owner promised it would be road worthy after a long weekend ha!
I don't know if this post made sense at all I am very tired.
In its new home next to my first real car. My old clio laid there for 3 years before I scrapped it, hopefully this won't be here that long!
Earth cable that wasn't connected.
Picture of the chip, lad at work called bluff on it so cracked it open, 2 minutes of a job. A lot easier than the ecu for my mk2 golf! (digifant2)
So it is a Superchip I need to do some research on these.
