I phoned my local dealer about my bonnet catch and the bloke said my car is too old and not eligible for the recall
Well mine is a 51 plate so I guess not all clips. He did mutter something about it being over 10 years old????
Mines a 51 plate and mines going in on the 23rd for a check?
emailed my local dealer today (griffin mill) an they daid there is no 2nd recall, they said there was a recall in 2008 but not another 1
Mines booked in tommorow for it, also get a free healthcheck as well
What does the healthcheck involve?
Mines a 51 plate btw
I've not received anything... '54 plate
In the waiting room at Renault the bird next to me has just had her bonnet catch changed now I just wait..
Oh and free 25 point safety check lets see what they find
"at your request the dealer can show you how to open and close the bonnet"
.......
.......
....... seriously?
Looking at the dacia duster atm it aint that bad!
One new latch
There check also brought up a few issues.
Both drive shaft gaiters are split!? + rear disk & pads Binding? These are only a couple of months old!!
They will be happy to do the work required.
Had mine changed today free of charge plus a health check . The only thing they found was the clamp for the cat to exhaust is knackered . I'd already planned on putting the decat back on tomorrow anyway with a new clamp and fitting kit . Had to laugh at the young girls comment on the service desk . " Your cars ready now , Its Brilliant " lol . Must be the new way they talk to their customers ? Maybe i should have offered to take her for a ride and showed her how to do a handbrake turn , i might have pulled my handbrake hard enough to do a small skid

on topic though i have just received my letter, but replaced the bonnet catch myself not too long back and it is regularly maintained so I will pretty much just be going for a health check at some point
they replied, you wernt sent a recall letter, you were sent out a safety message, some people received a recall letter.
My gf received her letter the other day for the bonnet catch and hers is a T plate.
£95 if it needs replacing?! Great recall lol, pay for it yourself even tho its a sh!te design!
Wtf, hopefully I have the recall letter then. Says in bold at the bottom "...who will check your bonnet mechanisms and apply any corrective action free of charge"

From what i can gather , there were 2 letters sent out . One was a recall letter , the other was just a free check and lube . I'd ignored my first recall letter back in 2008 . Looks like your g/f's car must have had a replacement catch at some stage according to Renaults system so they were only prepared to check , lube and offer a replacement and she would have to pay the cost .
Our lass has been today and they wanted £59 pound for the new bonnet catch, she told them that she shouldnt have to pay, they replied, you wernt sent a recall letter, you were sent out a safety message, some people received a recall letter.
They oiled it and showed her how to use it properly lol.
Then told her she needed three new tyres, a steering rack and a track rod end.
Her car passed its mot about three week ago lol. They washed it with a scourer for her tho Bless them.
