Scottish Highlands

I recently went on a long weekend up to Inchree (near Fort William/Glencoe) with the girlfriend.

Weather was absolutely amazing, so I was able to play with my new Canon 500D. Still learning how to use it properly though.

Anyway, took a fair few photos which I thought were worth sharing.

On the way up through the highlands we were treated to a stunning sunset, so we stopped just before driving through Glencoe pass.

On the Saturday, we went for a walk up to a waterfall above Loch Linnhe.

We then went for a walk down the Water of Nevis/Glen Nevis. This was an amazing walk along a precarious path through the gorge. Which opened out to a wide, long valley with a waterfall at the far end. It was like something from Lord of the Rings!

At the far end of the valley there is a climbing lodge, with an 'interesting' bridge!

Not a bad spot for lunch.

We then headed over through some remote roads to Loch Aikrig. I can't describe just how silent it was here, amazing.

On the Sunday we headed over to Kinlochleven for a walk up to the West Highland way/Old Military Road, which traverses above Loch Leven.

The view on the way down was something else!

Later that evening we took the Corran ferry across Loch Linnhe.

Finally on the way home we stopped in Oban (the long way home) which was lovely, although we stayed in the harbour for the most part.

Love the highlands so much, more so when the air was as clear as it was for us.

Beautiful pictures!

It really is IMO the nicest part of Scotland. You won't find anything near as nice in England ;)

Great photos. Really capture the area well.
I was up in Oban in February, this area again in March and I'm hoping to go back for a walking/cycling trip at Christmas, staying near Fort William!
Love that part of the world even after visiting loads of other apparently 'better' places abroad!

Got a wee work trip to Lochgilphed on Wednesday, hoping to have the time to saunter up and stop for some pics but we'll see. Love the highlands and some really nice shots there mate
