Great stuff mate.
Andrew, any chance that you could email the pictures as i dont want to loose them from my project thread if you delete them from your photobucket account.
Looking good mate )
My wife's Cmax will look as good as this by the end of today won't it Scott?? @Phase1sr
Ooft. This looks great
And it's getting out on Bedford next year. I R Excite!
Cheers Cub.
Flol @ Bedford, it might drive there.
You can drive mine round Bedford
It may be charged by then. Hopefully.
You have made a proper job of that mate, I ended up wrapping the the 'y' piece as one piece as my 2" warp just wouldn't follow the lines. That looks like 1" wrap though.
My my pliers also broke during it
Yeah you have done a proper job anyway, I thought mine was tidy but you must have spent hours on that.
Also is the manifold you have the one with the little indent for the subframe, if so stick some lock wire there so if it rubs through it doesn't uncoil.
Jesus Christ Scott! You could donate this car to a museum when you're done at this rate. Obscene levels of perfection going on.
Looking into the plug thread modifications for you, maybe its a little overkill but as long as you torque them to standard spec it will be fine
Picked up the head from the machine shop after its skim.
Just waiting for the valves now then recut the seats.

Scott, overkill? Impossible.
I agree though. If the thread is good ATM, and it's torqued up etc each time, it'll be fine IMO.
I can understand the consern about the spark plug threads.
New shiney bits look good. I know that boredom can cause further money spent increasing the work!
Should be awesome once its done.
s**t about the hoses bud
They pulled the same stunt on me. '4 weeks'. Then '5 weeks'. Then 6. I rang up in week 5 and basically said the hoses were preventing me finishing an entire engine rebuild.
Shiny stuff, looks good as ever! You should put some Nimbus heat shield on. Mine looks great, finishes the engine off nicely
Looks good, are you going to clean/powdercoat the subframe?
I missed your question about the dents in the manifold mate. It seems the dent was added to certain or later manifolds just to give a bit more clearance so you should be fine. Some French guys say its a Renault sport part without the dents. I just think its an evolution thing.
There is a good bit of engine adjustment to be had as I'm sure you know by having all nuts and bolts loose on all engine and box mounts with the uprated stuff so you will be fine. Just fire it all back together first time, no need to do a dry run IMO.
#If you run out of things to do I can drop a car off for you
Sent the inlets off today
Thanks Alex, yes ive just bought some alloy rear spacers and ARP rod bolts.
Just because they're alloy? lol ARP bolts are a good idea while its apart though. Told you that you should of removed the engine.
