Sell or break??

  R.I.P 182
Yo!

Sure this fits in this forum fine, wondering what my best options are to do with the car tbh!

Is it better to break for parts, engine & interior, or just get rid as it is?

Space after breaking isn't an issue so just looking for pros and cons really!

Breaking is a lot of hassle, if there is nothing wrong with it just sell it.

Breaking the car will normally get you more money tbh.

The problems that come with it just aren't worth the extra cash sometimes, you get complete messers asking for parts and trying to give you crap money for them. Then you get 200mph posting telling you he can pick up a car like yours for £200 cash and a blowjob and usual rubbish.

Sorry more info would help.

55 plate
53k miles

Mint interior
pretty good paint n exterior no bumps or scratches. Usual stone chips.

Wheels need a refurb, just had new cat, lambda sensors n brakes.. MOT til November, tax runs out this month I think..

Just thinking what would get more ££ tbh

Keep seeing them selling for s**t money!! I look after it have had it 4 years and it was hardly driven tbh as I commuted to work on train. Mileage is all in last few years after job change.

Personally, i use the following as a guide

PH1 172 - sell price under £1250, will break for more
PH2 172 - sell price under £1500, will break for more
PH2 182 - sell price under £1750, will break for more

You would be daft to break a standard car that would sell for £3k+, like yours would.

Surely breaking would be a massive ball ache if the car runs fine as is. You'd probably spend months trying to get rid of it all....

Nice Dave.

I thought I'd get not much more than 2k from seeing ads online.

3k plus would b nice!!

A nice mileage FF RB, if it has good history and is in good condition I'd be advertising it for around £4k.

Personally, & depending on when the belts were done obviously, id say its worth at least £3.5k.

If i were after another one id probably give you that for it. Late model, best colour, low mileage, etc.

Advertise at £3,995 & go from there.

I recently sold...

Full fat 182, racing blue, 2004/54 plate, 72k cambelt/auxbelt done, wheels refurbed, car was mint...

I got £3795 (full asking price) for it and the phone was red hot. Had people queing up for it.

You'd be clinically insane to consider breaking it.

RB full fat imo is the most wanted 182 except the Trophy. Superb colour and Spec.

Defo not worth the hassle of breaking. Id give you £2500 for it tomorrow!

For a 55 plate?

LOL!!

Daniel that's great to know.. Where did u advertise?

How much is it to get my wheels refurbed my ex was a dickhead w**k driver and killed my alloys (I'm typical woman I park far from the kerb purely to avoid curbing!!!!)

FF 182 IN RB are extremely sort after, I was looking for one for ages before i picked up my audi and couldn't find a decent one, If it's got good history, Good nick & cambelt changed then you must be looking at £3500+

I would have happily paid that a few weeks back and i know a few other would aswell, RB's are never for sale for long!

Can't believe you even considered breaking it to be honest. ;)

Wheel refurb should cost no more than £200 for a decent job, and I advertised on autotrader, £30 for two weeks iirc and it sold to the first viewer.

(This was my personal car and I didn't sell it through the garage)

Depends on if you get powder coated or painted.

Think we get a good price with the wheel specialist in Birmingham through Fred, but that would mean you'd need to be without the wheels obviously.

Fleck - i was assuming that was how much theyd go for! I paid 11k for mine no f**king way id sell for 2 lol.

Owen - yeah a bit of a nuisance, but may have use of another car.. How much he do them for?

Yeah I would say sell complete on autotrader, pistonheads or ebay, would be a waste of a good car if you broke it!

Definitely sell rather than break. Just don't use that pic in your for sale ad as it looks abandoned.

  R.I.P 182
its the only photo i have of the car on facebook, as it was my parking space at work! LOL! Sorry u fussy b******s <3

Was that in a forest? I swear i've seen an RB in a forest before...

I can't believe you even considered to break it absolute madness.

Miss my RB I want one again so badly.

  R.I.P 182
Not so much.. Its French Street in Westerham. Are you suggesting it's not my car? I'm sure a forest is a nice background for a few photos for more than one person!

Again though Jay - i thought they were going for pennies!!
