Should I cancel

Hi Guys,

Basically, Im being treated like an idiot by the guys @ Rimstock.

I want ET45 wheels (identical offset to the standard car), but they are only willing to supply ET38 wheels for my 182.

Its already paid for, and the ET38 wheels are on their way.

Its a blanket offset theyre using for all clios since 1998 - sport model or not. So if I had a 1.2, theyd still only supply me with ET38s.

They do an ET45 wheel, but dont want to supply them to me, because their daft computer tells them that I need ET38 wheels.

Im very close to cancelling, and getting my money back, but on the other hand, the standard tyres will cost an arm and a leg to change...

Your thoughts would help a lot.

Me to, why dont they want to sell you what you are asking for, sounds incredibly odd to me! Strange company.

Could always threaten to cancel.

i had the same kinda problem when i got a puncture a couple of months back, i couldnt get a tyre (there were no exaltos in country)

so i asked if i could buy a steel rim with tyre from a renault dealer, which they refused coz the computer wouldnt let them order a steel rim for a 182.

so i had 7 days with no car, f**kin useless!!

At the end of the day you are paying them to provide you with a product, which in this case is not the right one.

Howabout this for an email:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Further to my conversation with Renault technical experts, I wish to cancel my order as detailed below.

I find it strange and bizzare that I cannot order what I specifically want.

Please do not send any wheels out.

With due respect, if I were you, I would contact Renault and get a more recent update on the offsets for the current outgoing sport models.

£400 that youre no longer getting.

I had a similar problem with Renault when trying to buy a Monaco Blue touch up pen for my mates 172, they wouldnt let me buy it as I had a black one and the colour wouldnt match. Customer Service gone wrong somewhere!

tell them you want a refund, then tell them you dont want them.

you should of argued you were planning on customising your car with blue dots...

I was looking forward to having them...

But Id rather know that I havnt upset the standard setup by a total of 14mm on the front, and the 14mm on the back!

It doesnt sound like much, but would probably make a difference to how it handles.
