hi folks,ive just bought a clio 172 after owning a number vts gti etc and these top all the other hot hatches hands down but when she lets rip around the 5k rpm it pulls from side to side,is this normal does the front end need stiffining up i.e strut brace springs,please help.

as in tram lining? What tyre size you running? It shouldn't pull like that really... unless tracking/camber/struts need realigning

maybe you're just holding the steering wheel like a girl? lol

D.BROWN. yeah could be lol,any way running on standard 15s it doesnt pull during normal driving just under hard exceleration,it pulls from side to side,pretty scary sometimes.

not to far.i can jst about hold it in the lane,abit dangerous still.

sounds like you have a wee problem.

shouldn't pull like that. 1st thing id do is get 4wheel laser alignment & see how that works

then look to check balance of wheels if that doesn't sort it

ok thanks for your help but dont think it will be tracking (wheel allignment) as it doesnt pull att all whilst driving normal,wheels are only ballanced to stop vibration.

My mk1 172 used to do this, be very careful over wet white lines. I was chucked over the other side of the road quicker than I bargained for whilst overtaking!! My current 04 172 does the same, I just put it down to torque steer as everything checks out.

Its most prb tracking like them lot have said also check for wear on your tyres an if its un-even have your tyres re-placed then have the tracking done to save some time an money.
