Sliver, Black or Chrome Alloys. i really cant decide

  Clio 1.2 16V
how u doin folks. im kinda new here so im not sure how this goes - i jus need a lil advice in what to do next. I heard cliosport was a nice place to start.

So i got a clio 1.2 2004 plate from my friend for £900. he sold it to me cause he likes them big cars: X5's and land rover type vehicles. I kinda think i got it for a really good deal so if i do sell it in the future i wanna make it 3 times more than i bought it.

Im kinda stuck now tho. i bought it in june/ early july and havent even had the time to clean it yet. but i really wanna make it look nice if i do end up sellin it. My sole question is tho. the car is electric blue. whut color rims would go nice with it, ''silver, black or chrome. and i wanna tint all the windows and maybe, just maybe a small modification to the body.

any help folks. im completly new to this.

Out of all of those wheels i would go with the first set, but personally i'd look for something in 16 inch rather than 17, as they tend to ruin the cars handling a bit. (I know, i did it)

Some team dynamics pro race 1.2 or something similar.

With the colour of your car i'd either go silver or anthracite (grey)

Welcome to Cliosport.

never go black rims. even to compliment the window tint if i ever was to get it?

ok thanks for that. i seen 16's tho - they look really small.

  Dynamique Flamer
I would leave the alloys if you are going to try and sell it imo standard looking cars will sell easier and for more, just colour code it and tidy it up a bit :)

Could even maybe try white? Maybe....

if it was me, i would sell the 5 door, get a 3 door, not touch any of those wheels with a barge pole and get something 16 inch a bit more subtle, lower it, color code it. done

You won't add value to a car with modifications, especially the type you seem to be thinking of.

only way you will improve value on that is buying a set of standard 15" renault alloys, then selling straight away.

Motorworld bargain bucket alloys will decrease market value and potential buyers.

All look gash

+1 Just put some Dynamique wheels on or something

Also, modding your car to increase value isnt very smart. Tbh if you kept it in its current state you would make mor emoney than you would trying to sell it looking like a boy racer mobile :)

no.

who in their right mind would buy a 5 door 182?

Less chance of it being reliable.
Warranties void.
And there just happens to be a 182 made OEM from factory.
+ you will put more money into it than you would get from the sale.

+ you'd never do it anyway.

With most wheels uve got to lower ur car! That's a first mod I would do,

chromes uve got to have ur car tastefully modded for it to work! I had chromes on mine n loved it! Think most people on here did!

good purchase, just the wheels would definately not be.

paint the door strips, handles, and black bits on the bumper same blue as the car

lower it

SUBTLE wheels, higher spec OEM clio wheels would make it look better

if you put big blingy wheels on it your only gonna have 17 year olds interested in the car, keep it standardish and you could sell it on to a wider market, plus people wont think your a chav

But if your not into the standard looks i've got these wheels for sale, in need of a refurb though, mines a 1.2 aswell to show what can be done

oh ok. what about if jus went and got those 182 standard rims. would that be ok? would they fit on my 1.2? i heard the offset for 182 wheels are 42 and standard clios are 38. does that matter.

how much does color codin cost. roughly?

thanks everyone for the input too.

Few hundred quid for the colour coding.

Will need spacers to correct the offset on 182 wheels. :) Will fit though.

182 wheels and color codin and thats it huh? and that make a will make its value go up a little?

spacers? do i need to buy these seperate?

It will make it go up from what you paid for the car but it wont raise the value of the car to what it will have cost you to put them on.

For example the car costs £600 you put £250 alloys on it. The car wont then be worth £850

Colour coding it will make it look a hell of alot better however.

Dont think you wanna go more than 16" imo

Why are you so obsessed with the value, sounds like you got it cheap why not just enjoy driving it and do whatever mods you want to do, not what others tell you to, look through the site for inspiration if you want it to look tidy, and when it comes to selling the car, sell whatever bits arent standard and sell the car on....
