So. I gave in and bought a DC2.

I still cannot justify spending near on £5k for a 13 year old Honda.

Don't get me wrong, I really like them and have always wanted to own one, but I just cannot justify it!

When they are £1500 I will buy one. Maybe.

I know what you mean Dan. When I look at how much its cost me, I do feel like a bit of a plumb. But then its reliable, practical within reason and puts a smile on my face everyday. Not many cars can do what it dose for the same cash.

LOL!!

I was waiting for a defence reply!

I see what you're saying mate, but for me personally, I cannot justify it. Some people couldn't justify spending nearly £4000 modifying a 1992 Renault Clio.... But strangely I can!

Haha, I know what your saying. Each to their own I guess.

Out of curiosity, have you ever had a go in a DC2? I mean properly given it the berries.

Drive one dan. Epic. IMO (ready for slating;)) they are a better drive than the dc5.

Like I said dude, I've never heard a bad word said about them so if one came up for sensible money, i'd buy it!

But seeing as I buy and sell for a living, theres not a lot of profit in a £5k 13 year old Honda!

I have the same issue. I just dont get how they've only gone down £2k in value in 6 years. I'm getting bored of waiting now

they may be 5k and 13 years old but its still 5ks worth of car 190 brake diff recaros a much better build than the clios handle better rarer look better. its like saying i cant see how someone would pay 15k for a clio about the v6 or how some 205s still go for over 5k. i think its a good thing that they have only gone down 2k in 2 years, 2 years ago my 172 cost me 6k now it would be worth half that if i still had it. it shows how much of a good car they are.

Awesome machines.

I agree with Warren as well, they're sharper than a DC5... and that's not exactly an S3.

One thing I will say, they arent great for Motorway use. 5th gear, 4k rpm, 70 mph.

Go any faster than that and you start to get through fuel like a fat kid through cake. If you dont behave yourself, economy goes right out window.

yeah they're not great on the M roads, i drove to Le Mans in June in my dc5 with a mate in his JDM dc2, i couldn't understand why he kept dropping back from me, it was because me in 6th gear the revs wern't too bad but he was virtually at vtec. Whe had to stop quite ofter for him to get fuel also because the dc2 has quite a small tank compared to mine

Yep. My daily commute is a 30 mile round trip. I put in £35 at the start of the week and might have a little left to get me through the weekend. Im dreading when I have to work in Plymouth and my trip is 70 odd miles a day...
