Some f**ker tried to break into my gf's RSi

  172 & RSi
Basically, last night, or at least we think it was last night, someone has tredi to break into my gf's car. Looks like the have stuck a screwdriver in the lock and now the little flap thing is jammed open and the lock is a little bent inwards. They've also scratched some of the paint around the lock too!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

So annoyed I'd love to get my hands on these little f**kers. At least the scumbags havent got away with anything, but what I want to know is what can we do now?

I obviously want to fix the door lock, I'm guessing I'll need a new one but will any fit? I don't want to have to have another key for it etc.

What are our options?

Thanks

Oh and BTW its a Mk2 RSi if that makes any difference.

I will try and get a pic of the damage later but my gf has gone to work in it now, its mainly the door lock which has all been damaged with a screwdriver.

The centre flap part (where you insert the key) as shown in the pic above is pushed in and the area around it seems to have been bent in aswell so now theres a gaping hole.

Whats the best/easiest/cheapest way to get this sorted asap.

Thanks

You could get a second hand lock and have it matched to the original key, not sure how much that would cost though.

2 key blades?

Would I then have to open the key fobs and put the blades in or something? What about the ignition barrel?

Cheers

i would imagine you would have to keep the same (older) key for the ignition and have a new key for the door. s**t i know. at one point on a fiesta i had, i had 1 key for the ignition, another for the doors and another for the petrol cap lol.

ahhhhhhhhh the old days :)

I know yeah, could be an option, will go to the bodyshop tommorow and get a quote, but I suppose I will need both doing as I'm a perfectionist and couldn't have them being odd.

Anyone know if its possible, if I get new barrels, to keep the same key for the ignition etc. Don't want two sets of locks.

Thanks

My first clio got broken into a couple of years back in the exactly the same way! They were a bit luckier with mine and managed to steal my new CD player! COONTS.

my saxo got broken into when i had that, they buggered up one door lock but i had to get new locks for the ignition, doors, boot, and petrol cap, its not cheap even on the insurance.

i would go with delocking as it means you dont have to change the other locks and with stop it happening again
