Standard air box with good panel filter, better than induction kit??

Hi I'm thinking of putting a standard air box with a good panel filter back on my ph2 172, as the induction fills like its bogging it down at under 5k rpm.
What is the views on this???? As I've heard that the standard air box is much better than most induction kit!!!

I've got fitted on my car: decat, straight through cat back exhaust, matched inlets, if this makes any difference to the choice between the 2...
