Steering wheel radio changer..?

This is sort of hard to explain.. on the right hand side of my steering wheel below the wiper switch I have a little head unit changer thing..

Looks like that..
But it doesn't work.. its never worked and I just thought as I'm doing my head unit I might as well try fix this thing as well.. so Im just seeing if anyone knows why its not working?

if you have an after market stereo you need an adapter to make it work PM MT-AUDIO on here he will sort you out.
if not you may need a new one from what i have read i dont think they are very hard to change.
