Stubborn water marks on 197 grille

Running out of ideas chaps.... really cant shift these watermarks!

Any ideas?

you could try amor all gell for plastics, will require rubbing in with a cloth but should do the trick

My advice would be to get some Megs All Purpose Cleaner. Aggitate this with a decent detailing brush, such as the megs side lock brush.

Then make sure that you protect it afterwards. There are hundreds of products for this, different opinions on all. Personally feel that the Auto Glym Bumper Care is perfectly sufficient.

If you find that the marks do not come out with this method then it might be worth trying something like WD40 or Linseed oil, as the marks may have been caused by something actually in the water, such as calcium deposits etc.

I get these after washing. Any similar silicone spray (bumper stuff) will do. Makes it easier than applying it to EVERY gap too!

Me too. I use it on my 182 grill. Works well. Goes further if you apply it with a damp cloth.

Make sure that you use a clean cloth everytime, as, just like tyre gel, this can get dirty and applying dirty gels will just mean your plastics look dull and grimey, rather than slick and clean.

Yeah the cloth does get dirty very quickly.

Make sure you wash the cloth each time you apply. Best also testing it on some white paper/your hand. Look to see if the gel has either dirt or grime in it. If it does, it has been contaminated somewhere along the line, usually from the cloth.

Personally I find that spraying it Satin Black is the best option. Matt finish and less of the f**king about when it comes to polish/water marks. Yes it's cheating and not really detailing...but whatchagonnado?

like i said on clio197 there impossible to remove and ive tried everythink i could think of inc sitting in a bath of APC for a few hours and even a tar and glue remover but to no avail

strange that the water has done that to be honest. You must have very hard water in the Valleys . AG bumper car is the best plastic stuff you can buy. Very durable and a great shine. Best doing one coat, then buffing off. Then apply again leaving it to soak in. Looks sweet as.

You could try quick detailer wipe down, IPA or rubbing peanut butter into it (usually for polishing stains, but will probably do the same there too.)

You defo should be able to get them out. I would try a detailer before buying a new grill!!

Grill = plastic
