Well might aswell fire up the rest
Went down to suffolk to visit DannyR. And collect some bits! After an 800 mile round trip, Came home with this & the rest of the kit + EC1.
So anyway, Bought myself a run around while the car was off the road!
Quick wash and in the garage, Then onto stripping it down.
Fitted non sport fan and plated up the hole.
Fitted some new rear vmaxx shocks
Got the bay stripped down for painting, And welded up the holes from where there used to be a strut brace.
Started to go back together, Also got some nimbus heat sheild.
Subframe cleaned up + painted, Along with ARB and wishbones.
Found out when i removed the wishbones that the cups were ovalised, So got some new bushes under waranty
old vs new
sandblasted my spare gearbox mount and a bit paint! much better.
So anyway, Getting on with things now, Adam decides hes breaking his 182 track car...When better a time to purchase some shiny wilwoods
Also Bought varley red top battery + genuine cup racer tow eyes from him too. That will be my Xmas money gone then!
Under the arches also got some paint! Would be a shame not to!
Started to get things bolted back together
So, Thats it back on its wheels.
Heat wrapped manifold.
Now for the fun bit! The engine
Cheers to Steven ( cupman on here ) and Adam. For the help! phoning steven at silly times usually with starting the convo with 'yep, Think I've broken it' lol!
Changed Dephaser pulley, belt kit + idlers, Water pump. Meg 225 crank sprocket, Crank shaft seals in both ends, New sump gasket + sealer, And gave it all a lick of paint!
Some of the Renault goodies!
Difference in sprockets -
Engine and box built up
And then in atlast!
Intercooler and Charger oil cooler fitted up
Got a 205 power steering pipe as its all flexi, As aposed to having the pipe in the middle of the renault one, Much better for fitting in.
Got a radiator + fan from a 1.2 clio for better fitment of the charger filter without fowling the origional rad. Also fitted my brand new headlights and test fitted bumper.
Got the ECU's mounted up. Modified the gearbox mount, And drilled holes and tapped some threads into them so i could skrew the plate / ecu down. Then velcro'd the EC1 in place.
Fitted the battery behind the passenger seat, And have a cut off next to it.
Then her first time out the garage in 2013
Going back together.
And then before its first drive
Probably missed a few bits and bobs out but theres plenty there! Biggest issue was waiting 3 and a bit weeks on the engine bits to turn up, Which we managed to track down on the last day of my xmas hols! And cheers to steven + Adam and the rest that halped out or kept the secret, I managed to convice most people the engine was out so i could spray the engine bay...:rasp:
Anyway, That will do for now!
