SUPERCHARGED Alien Green 200 - PROGRESS TO DATE

Yeah, there were a couple of cars who needed to use their mirrors a lot more.

A full tank, ouch, I did half a tank to 72 miles, 14mpg I think it said. Maybe you could get some jerry cans and paint them AG.

yeah - I had 5.2 mpg and a range of 46 miles with more than 3/4 of a tank 🙈 must be cause its heavy!! i think this may need to go full track over clubsport :grimacing:

Dunno mate,

At a guess 1200 for car, 50 for supercharger and cage, 100 for me and similar for Fraser lol.... so going round at approx 1400 / 1450 kg as I had passengers in all night.... tooo heavy

That's mental, mine is 1380 with me and a full tank

I have an end goal of 1200kgs or less, need to get the grinder and spot weld drill bits out

Looked to be going well on wed night Craig , looks brilliant as well .
Cheers mate. Yeah It was, but runs very hot, so oil cooler and and some clever ducting / vents in the bumper / front end required.

The Lotus looked amazing. How are you liking it?

I was having the same problems after about 10 laps oil and gearbox oil temps were creeping up.
It's good fun but totally different out on track to the clio.
Have you seen any pics anywhere from that night ?

Finally got round to giving her a wash tonight, first time since the track night which is not like me, works just been over the top so never looked at her... I even managed to wash and detail her at 5:00am on the Wednesday morning following the Tuesday night track night. So a lot happier she's been de rubbered and cleaned up!

Main reason was for the post was the novelty of starting her up and the average mpg had managed to creep up to 5.3 🙈
IMG_7266.JPG

Although just below 3/4 of a tank does only get you 42 miles FFS
IMG_7267.JPG

...... hopefully more modifying soon once I get the house renovations completed.

More air needed through the engine bay, venting and an oil cooler on the cards... needs to be done subtly so it looks factory and quality !

Yeah something along those lines mate. I've already talked to a mate about a new bonnet for install  can't bring myself through deface this one

Well it's been a while since I've actually looked at the AG........ bathroom build took over so after 8 weekends of that and nothing else I managed to give her a good wash, polish and detail. Hadn't turned a wheel so more dust removal than anything else 🙈
IMG_8103.JPG

Anyway, looking a little better now and I had the rest of the afternoon to kill, so wheels off and I managed to tie the front Alcon callipers in with the rear. I'm not a fan of the red callipers with the AG paint, but since they are the option that comes with the pack I didn't want to paint them silver.... so I picked out some of the Alcon detailing on the front and made that red to keep the theme going.....

Well, that was last weekend when the weather meant working on the car was fun! This weekend not so much!! But as things need to be done in advance of the 24th August track night I had to get a move on and fit the oil cooler..... simple task you may think but under an engine bay that already has supercharger & cooler, intercooler and I room to swing a cat, it was a challenge!! Anyway, bumper off and start looking for a suitable location..... anyway, this is how it ended up, all in, working and no issues at all .... went for the largest oil cooler I could get in the space available, so a 19row SETRAB / MOCAL set up was ordered, als had to remove the aircon pipes to allow the sansdwich plate set up to fit and obviously radiator out a well as it's no use without the pipe work! So all snug, bumper on and with the fogs out I have direct air straight in to the cooler
Insect mesh installed meantime to stop any stones making short work of the cooler, but I'm on the hunt for bigger mesh to let a little more air through, but this gives the required protection at the minute!

Good work. The braided lines look like they're touching the bottle, could you not put some rubber around them to stop the possibility of rubbing a hole in he bottle?

Already done mate. the photos were taken at a time that i would remember to take them 🙈

The only bit of protection on at that time was the foam between the cooler & the bumper bar. Before the bumper went on i chased the lines all the way through with rubber wrap and more cable ties

Quick update tonight:

Whilst I realise the 200 is a heavy bugger, I've decided to add to that instead of reducing it today 🙈 safety first though! so the safety devices cage is completed....

considered removing the carpets, but I like the clubsport look (just now) so I'll cut the carpets around the supports tomorrow, get the seats re fitted and get all the trim back in place:up:

Road wheels going back on as well as I taxed her today so I could get some engine temp about her to make sure no leaks from the oil cooler etc, you just can't get a thorough check from tick over in the drive! Strange seeing her with the number plates back on :grimacing:

IMG_8623.JPG

Also up on the ramps tonight, so I don't wake the neighbours early tomorrow, as I want to get the exhaust clamps all slackened and a re alignment carried out as I seem to have a knock coming from it. Think it's touching the rear beam. Most possibly too low and too large a diameter of pipe so it may be unavoidable, but im sure I'll solve it 🔨 :grimacing:

Time for a quick tea break, so a little update:

Well a little perseverance and all is back in place! hate cutting carpets and mats etc but needs must....... as it has to look tidy

excuse the state of the drivers mat, but I have cut the original set of mats, no point in making an arse of the brand new set I have in the garage.....!

A little modification required to the glove box as I'll need in it to arm the extinguisher system. Trophy needed the same and it worked out well, so fingers crossed this one does to

Another step forward & another cup of tea!

Glove box modified....

Cut, filed, foam packed and spaced to sit in line.......Just a little back to black and the edges will disappear, I'll leave that until the final clean up though!

Good thing is anything modified can easily be replaced

Well exhaust will be an easy fix..... mid rubber was a little soft, so a stainless steel cable tie has done the necessary just now until I get an updated item sourced

  Supercharged AG 200
Tonights update......

Been a little quiet since the last track outing, to be fair I wasn't really that excited at it until the last 30 mins and the battling with @Djw John etc..... but in the manifold went!! Cracked at the 2 into 1 weld and either the flexi or just above! So.......

The AG is different. I keep referring to it as subtle, well as subtle as it can be being bright green! but all that really does change when you start her up. As I've noted before the best way to describe her at that point is EVIL. The Ktec exhaust sounds beefy, the supercharger just hisses and whines & the result is deafening! the car spits flames on track at every up-change and really does go well (for a really heavy car) so to alter this is a big step.................. but in an effort to make her louder, god knows why, i have opted to go for the full PMS manifold & race straight through system, so this can only get wilder (I hope)!! a point to note is a centre box can be added if it needs to go on road.

little bit upset its not as pretty as the 182 manifold they provide, but the quality will be there and no more flexis to worry about. Nick has advised me that this will be loud with the charger pushing through it so here's hoping....... anyway its getting made at the minute so i'll update you as soon as its here and ready to fit. i have the heat wrap & new exhaust rubbers coming too, just to keep everything right!

What a fantastic read Craig. Great way to spend my morning at work.

The PMS pictures don't seem to be working though 😧
It was just the standard shots of their manifold and exhaust system from their website Dave..... it's currently being made, and my impatient side is getting the better of me 🙈

Could be a couple of weeks or more away yet!!

I'm very impatient, not sure i could wait a couple of weeks. When you next planning to be out on track or is this likely it for the year?

Don’t know yet mate. I would really like to get the car out after fitting but it will be weather related, that and whether it have to go down to RS Tuning for a remap......

  Supercharged AG 200
Well this is probably the shortest thread I’ve done....

So, the AG arrived with its new owner today after an overnight trailer journey........ surprisingly she stayed clean!! Photo of her being unloaded 😢😢

I know I’m going to regret letting her go, so I’ll just have to find something quick to fill the gap and become a winter Project!!

More to follow........ (hopefully)

  Supercharged AG 200
Unfortunately yes mate......

No I thought about it, but it wouldn’t be the same mate..... not with the stone chips on the passengers door and the rear quarter....

possibly another 182 or an R53
