Tempted to get rid of my car...

  Mk4 .:R32
Got a fairly good quote off elephant of 1200 (not bad considering I'm 20 with 1 years NCB), rang up to see what it would work out as if I paid monthly by direct debit...1880. How can they justify charging an extra 600 quid?

I didn't mind paying my insurance off in one last time cos I had enough to do so, but I just think thats too much. Might just get a cheap diesel for a bit :(

I haven't built a good enough credit rating to get a credit card with an big enough credit limit. Got a credit card from my bank about 4 or 5 months ago and they would only give me a 400 quid limit LOL.

I'm with Tesco and am 21. The renewal on my 182 was £1800 and so i asked if it would be cheaper if i cancelled and set up a new policy. They said YES!! So thats what i did and the new policy is only £1000 and thats including interest of paying monthly.

If you want to pay it off in one go, have a look at getting a student account. I have one and I have a £1600 overdraft limit with 0% interest.

Are Bell and Elephant not both part of the Admiral group?

Try Highway, they're mega cheap, just hope you don't have to claim lol.

ste, i had the same problem!

i got a quote off bell for £1372 for 10 months which was by far the best i could find, i rang up about paying monthly and it shot up to £2,200! luckily i had a grand in savings and £500 uni money to put towards it so i paid it off in 1 go and now give the money back to myself each month out of my student loan!

Just pay the £1200 on a credit card then pay £100 a month.
