Test drove 182 today!

  LY V6 with Recaros

Was surprised at how heavy the steering on it was, thought it was great fun to drive tho! Has anyone gone from a saxo vtr to a 182 with cup packs? to be honest, until i got on to an open road i couldnt really feel an awful lot of difference in the power, just as i said the thing i found the most noticable was the steering

  MK2 Audi TT - 2.0T dsg.

My test drive was great, I had a guy really push the car so I had a good idea what to my car was going to be like. If that never happend from the way I drove it on the test I would not have thought it was anything special! of course I love it now! ;)

Not sure how heavy PAS is on these newer clios but tyre pressures can make a difference. Not sure how good dealerships are at amintaining these. If anything like hire cars then probably terrible.

Sure a 182 user could advise.

The steering on the 182 is enormously heavy compared to other cars ive driven, but the steering feel is by far the best and the wheels do as theyre told. Feedback is brilliant and no over assist at all.

When I had a 2005 1.2 Clio courtesy car, the steering was so light I could turn the steering wheel with one finger.

the steering is heavy for a purpose, its not supposed to be light, its hydrolic power steering, which still gives power assist, but doesnt make the steering to light like electric for instance

I think in my 182, the steering feels overlight to me as most modern cars do. Its not as bad as some, but I would feel alot more at home with the same weighted steering as my old 205 GTi.

Yeah and i must admid i do prefer the feel of a slightly heavier car that u actually have to drive, i drove my b/fs megane b4 the test drive and that is so light you can just steer it with 1 finger, i think it gets a bit boring to drive imo

I had a Peugeot 106 Quiksilver (very similar to Saxo) before my 182 and although that was a great little car, its not in the same league as the Clio. Get one! ;)
