With minty mint standard wheels that'd look perfect.

When I had my CTR I missed my Clio. Now I'm 4 years older with another Clio, I seem to want another CTR :(

I like the wheels tbh. But standard would look better. I was mooching on ph's and you can get newer lower milaege ones for less money. There's a nice facelift Milano on there with k100 for £4700

Speed wise no different. As standard it's very much a bland car. I changed the exhaust, filter, and has a fast road setup done and it was better. People bang on about a fast road set up transforming the drive, imo it doesn't and had mine done properly by a specialist in Crewe. Allways fancied a modified one but I think this should be closer to £4K. But those mods arnt cheap and after speaking to the seller it will be a well looked after car

I wish I would of bought another ep3, but as I didn't have the funds at the time for a half decent one I purchased the FF instead. The money I've spent over the last 3 months on the FF I could have had the ep3 after all. I'm throwing more bits at it tomorrow (brake MC & ABS pump) and if that doesn't sort it then its going and it will be lesson learnt with buying French I'm afraid. I love the Clio when its working properly but this is 'when'....I had my old ep3 for 5 years and 80k miles and not one thing broke, not one. Just servicing, tyres and brakes was all it needed with 5 years of total abuse!

Never seen the appeal of these myself.

I'm sure they're an ok drive but they just look awful I think. It's just a blob. The Clio might be a bit more flimsy (ok a lot more) but it has bags of character and is a really nicely proportioned little car. The Civic still feels tinny and cheap inside I think.

There are only two Type-Rs that I would consider buying; an EK9 or a DC2.

I did about 30k in my 172 Cup in the space of 18 months and it needed very little in that time. The only things I can think of outside routine servicing was rear shocks and injectors, which cost pennies. Bare in mind the car was on over 100k when I started too.

It's just pure luck with used cars. You can get a good one or a bad one, you can never really tell.

Having owned them both, the ep3 is a better overall car IMO. The 182 feels a tad quicker due to the extra torque and lower kerb weight and it handles better in cup form compared to the UKDM ep3 but as an overall package the ep3 is better. The interior is a much better place to be, the standard seats are miles ahead, and the engine, well....I still believe the K20A is still the best 2L N/A engine ever built. Don't forget the box in the ricer as well, lovely slick action. Suffers from 2nd gear syncro issues when cold but still one of the best I've owned.

It is with any used car, especially over 10 years old and high miles but the French stuff is a real gamble compared to the Jap market IMO.
Meh. It's all about buying the right car in the first place. I've had 7 clios, only 'failure' in 400k miles between them (including many track days) was a lambda sensor, an injector and a speedo sensor. All minor things.

Buy a bad one (clio, civic or any car!) and you'll have issues.

Thing is though. With what's been done and I'm going to say it's mechanically spot on too, it outweighs the looks imo. Does seem like I'm talking myself into it but the seller seems a really good guy and he's had previous civics of equal quality. He sent me a pic of his old fn2 show car, awesome.
