I am game for that.
Won't take 20 minutes ;) engine, shafts, box, subframe took about 30 to remove once loom and ancillaries had gone
I'm up for that
3000 posts in the project thread!!!!!!!!!
yep, can easily be done in a morning or afternoon, boom.

well loom is already out as you know, there is no front end on it (slam panel, rad etc), no exhaust so it should be relatively easy, if you guys are seriously game that would be awesome....

jesus that civic lol... yeah definitely do it mate
Paints gay anyway... birds already tried to destroy mine lol :(

mine will live in the garage... unless its being taken out for a proper blasting.... thats if it ever gets done...lol

so colour is pretty much decided on, meaning the engine will be coming out shortly....
moving along now... still a bit slow though.

must chase my boot floor

How much work is that going to be? If not a massive amount then I'd do it, if a royal pita then I'd leave them

i would be removing the old mounts otherwise (in my opinion) there is no point... (as i already have some zero height subframes....)
actually, these won't lower the seats anymore.....

hmmmm

engine crane picked up from a friend and dropped off with the car ready for this weekend coming when myself, bomber and Gray will be removing the engine,
whilst i was at the unit i got to see the 182 floor-pan and my mate informed me that this will be going in on Tuesday (tomorrow) so progress is making way,

also we mixed up some signal green whilst i was there, i have this at home now and need to poor it out and let it go off to decide if thats what i am going for....

UPDATE:
as planned a little while ago on here bomber and keiran were coming down to help me remove the engine from the 172... they made there way down last night ready for us to hit the car today, a good laugh the night before with cider's, curry's and un-expected encounters in the dark...lol,

onto today then, we didn't rush to get up and out the door but where on our way by about 10ish, now i have moved the car is about 45mins away, so the DCi was loaded up with anything we thought we would need and we then made our way....

IMG_1363.jpg

we got there about 11ish and with the engine crane already with the car we could get going straight away and with dumb and dumber helping me i was sure we could crack it quicker than a rally team mechanic on coke....
the loom was removed a few weeks back and the power-steering fluid and coolant had already been drained, we then drained the oil's and started to strip down any other bits and bobs / bolts etc etc....

it was extremely handy having gray and bomber there as they have both removed engines before, they knew what was where, what could stay in and what could come out,

IMG_1376.jpg

pretty much the last thing to do before we actually started to look at removing the engine was remove the drive-shafts.... this is where we had a minor set-back, we couldn't find the locking-wheel-nut key..... after looking for a while and then looking at the locker bolt bomber come up with a way of un-doing it without damaging it, good times and we were back on course...

IMG_1365.jpg

driveshafts out and then onto lifting it out.....

POW...jobs a good-un,

(you can just see all my stuff stack up on the office roof ready to go back in....one day)

at this point we discussed what would be happening engine wise and plans have changed again, we decided from our vast tuning experience ... Gray Motorsport, B-spec Motorsport and um.... Wurzel WRacing... that the F4R was not really an adequate lump, nope... so that was going as scrap, decision made....

i didn't get any pictures of what happened next but i think the guys where a little surprised, the engine wasn't staying with the car, nope it was coming back home (for certain reasons) so i quickly removed the gearbox and a few other little bits from the block...

IMG_1378.jpg

...and then we proceeded to fit it all in the back of the DCi (engine placed nicely with the crane, along with the gearbox, radiator and a load of other bits, plus us 3 etc etc and we were then on our way home at about 3.15... good times... not rushed but nice and relaxed.... we got back to mine and had the fun job of getting the block, gearbox and other bits in the garage without the use of a crane this time, but with 2 of us and a northern bloke it was simples..... and this is how she now sits....

IMG_1390.jpg

Good Times...
i must say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to bomber and Gray for there help, traveling from Nottingham and Gloucester just to help me remove the engine shows there are some proper good people about, thank you VERY VERY MUCH guys... love you long time xxxx

UPDATE PT: 2: the rear floorpan

was pretty happy with how this looked, as my mate is so busy at the moment he got a contact in to work on my floorpan, this chap specialised in panel work so i knew it was in good hands, the panel was from a 182 and brand new from Renault, however we are convinced that the back panel on a 182 must be different too due to this obviously not having the depth (in profile) that the wheel welled boot floor did. However this chap did a great job of cutting the existing floor and matching the panels up.....(i don't have any WIP pictures just the almost finished article)

Happy days seems like a propper lads day out good work guys :).

So now the engines out are you making a table out of the engine block or making a f4r gocart lol
As for the replacment engine what are you fitting then?

I think it will be Vtec, silvia or cossie maybe a zetec, can't think of any other engines that's good BHP to ££££ wise.
