The French 172 "Monster'One"...
Nice project,

Have a few questions for you.

Rear brakes 197calipers look like? What purpose did you use discs?

I assume the new final gear box lower than for the stock goal from what gearbox / car?

thanks in advance [/ QUOTE]

Sorry for the late reply ...

The rear brake is the Clio 3 RS (197): the brake discs are those of the Clio GT with 4 holes as the Clio 2 (172) to mount the rims without problems.

About the gearbox: I added a couple short 14x63 with a fifth short. ;)

I hate to upset you, but that cambelt tensioner has been set wrong!

Explain please Fred? He has what look's like the only way to tension the belt with the ecentric part facing to the right of the picture giving tension. Are you saying he has tensioned it anti clockwise when he should have done it clockwise?

Had me worried, common sense really, get the two mark's lined up and your good, same as any old ecentric tensioner...phew.

Is that an upper pulley to suit a skimmed head Fred?

yeah its slightly oversized for skimmed heads/decked blocks etc

Non, en fait elle est très bien montée : j'ai été moi même étonné mais c'est bon ! :S

Avez-vous la machine la culasse tout en reconstruisant le moteur?

Thanks,

Do these calipers need an adapter to fit or are they plug and play in combination with Clio GT discs? No problems with handbrake or wheel bearing?

Are you able to provide me with the item numbers for this conversion? Have been scanning through JC5-062 to JC5-144 of boxes and none have the 14x63 ratio. My guess is these parts comes of a JR5-129 gearbox? What fifth gear ratio did you use?

BigAsh is your man if you want to know different available 5th gears. He toyed with a few ideas and has all the part numbers iirc.

your cambelt tensioner is in the wrong position

en fancais

votre tendeur Cambelt est dans la mauvaise position

If you arent running a slam panel, you could consider spacing the RS2 forward to give it more intake length, should help increase torque.

Do those top mounts allow for camber adjustment? It's not obvious to me that camber bolts are being used... thanks!

You love a sticker.

What size of wheel spacer did you have to use with the Brembo 4 pot brakes and the OZ F1's?

Really like the look of this but agree the welshnamed one that the intake hose will create a very turbulent flow which wont help things.

Good to use before the filter if oversized as a CAF but not after the filter sized to the TB.

Looks great but I can't help but think that the hose you're running between the filter and the RS2 isn't really up to the job.

I will soon change;-)
Looks like a promising project mate [/ QUOTE]!

It is!

Love it (not fan on the cartoon stickers though).

I took off to get some things more professional

Thank you, it will look good in blanc.

Are the wheels the original phase 1 15"? I don't think they look like them.
