Ffs what bulbs are in a blobeye impreza??

Need some replacement dipped and mains (are they the same bulb??) And the handbook says hb3 and h1 (I think) and any online "search" says they are H4.

Can't check as mine is at home and I'm driving the gaylander today.

dipped - H1
full beam - HB3

Not h4 as that does both dipped and full beam (blob headlights are separate fitment lenses)

Get some ultra brilliance from halfrauds there doing them on bogof

Classics are h7, I'm after some decent bulbs to go in my new lights. More of a question rather than a statement

Yeah there the ones. Will check halfords and see if they have them on offer. They a big improvement?

Not sure who your talking to here as there's 2 conversations regarding bulbs, but if it's me, halfords do the ultra brilliance bulbs at bogof offer. (£25-£30 each) so get 2 for the price of one.
These bulbs are 120% brighter than Oem and not chavy blue either. Legal too. I had them in my blob and I thought they were good and visibility was very much improved.
Not tried any of the others so can't comment.

Cheers for confirming...halfords, autobulbs direct all reckon the lights were a h4.

Im gonna get some hb3 and h1 versions (unsure on the full beam yet) osrams for the blobeye before doing my his retrofit

Been offered a set of five ao48 tyres in 225-45-17 medium compound for 320 delivered, 4mm of tread left. Just started looking for some tyres for track, good price?

Yeah I've heard the nankangs are good. Bit like when federal brought their tyre out and people said its bound to be crap.

Tbh I think they are better than the federals out in today's market, also did you know that the federal that sell nowadays are actually a inferior grade to the originals that made the name when they came out, hence the price.

If it's got an undertray fitted and there is a leak, you'll struggle to see it. I'd remove the undertray, then park it up running for 20 mins or so. If there's a leak you'll see it on the floor.

checked rad hoses? if they are standard they are prone to leaks. is the rad itself ok? they too corrode quite badly.

Went through a litre in a day…. can't see any signs of leaking but as daniel said won't be able to see that well with the undertray. Hoses seem ok(by ok i mean everything seems tight), rad in v good condition.

Having a pressure test in the next couple of hours, air locks could be causing it i'm told.

I thought i recognised your username, your on SN arnt you?

Lol took you long enough, yes.

Have a read at this regarding the federal rsr, not slating them at all but just FYI.

Quote-
In 2009 the RS-R was considered, and fell under the jurisdiction of the Federal Motorsport tyre department and was sold only to specialised motorsport tyre dealers. In 2011, because specialist tyre sellers were not shifting enough products globally it was removed from motorsport sales and became a UHP tyre and sold to European wholesalers. However to make the price reasonable in the very competitive market a lower specification tyre was made to be sold to the wholesale market. Tyre sales are very competitive and if mainland European wholesalers were getting a significantly lower price than the UK, then the UK would be up in arms over it and you would not see RS-R's in the UK. The reason there is such a significant difference is that the UK motorsport dealers pay more for a higher specification product. If we could get the product we do at the Euro price we would be selling at a much lower price also, that is market forces. The fact we don't is because we get the higher spec product that costs more.
And no, there is no obvious side wall marking difference. The lower spec product is lighter and if you move these tyres around all day you will know a light on when you come across it, the rubber is also a different colour.
If you look at MyTyres or any of the other discount dealers you will frequently find RS-R prices lower than the standard 595 budget option. There is absolutely nowhere near the margin in a tyre to be able to cut 20 to 30% in price unless you are buying a cjheaper product inthe first place.

For anyone interested. Been shopping around for the nightbreaker plus bulbs as I've just bought some crystal headlights which I will be fitting over the weekend. Andrew page (motor factors) have a deal on by me at £9 something plus vat.

Yep, twin pack. I've ordered some for Friday. They had a promotion a bit ago and the price is still valid now even though the promo has finished.

Bit of an update, did a pressure test and the coolant was pissing through a TINY crack on the corner of the rad, really didn't think the rad would have been at fault, no corrosion at all, looks in great nick! Luckily my mechanic has a spare Subaru one lying around, ill give that a clean and whack it on tonight.
