The Impreza picture and discussion thread

I'm not a massive fan of the classics either tbh but the more I look at them the more I like them!

That Type R is pretty mint and it's quite powerful as well!
Couple of old bay photos.

Agree, looks lovely that.

I always loved scoobies since i was a kid but the one i went out in just underwhelmed me so much I was genuinely gutted. Don't know anyone else with one to change my view.

What did you go out in?

I've had a genuine 280bhp classic and a 320+bhp blob eye. Both were superb cars.

I did have a standard bug eye UK300 and sold it within an hour of collecting it. It was duller than Bolton.

What at did you go out in?
It was my mrs step brothers car and it was mint in fairness. He said it was a wrx sti with PPP. He didn't say it was 300bhp though, think he said 280ish but can't remember as it was a few years back now. Any ideas? I still love them, just this particular car left me feeling gutted, like dreams were shattered!lol i know its sad but they were my heroes back when I was a kid.

^ very nice tbf
Thanks mate its all standard bar the after market double din.

It took me 8 months of viewing other sti's until i got this one. They all felt really slow and not up to it for they where claimed to be running (more than likely the engines where battered!) When i drove this which is 300bhp rather than the acclaimed 350bhp+ of most of the ones i viewed it felt quick, more responsive and fast. A well looked after standard one with good service history is the way to go or to buy off someone of a forum that know what they are on about as it saves you in the long run

If it had ppp it's will be 305bhp, I had one years ago.

I remember the thread when you sold it. Looked a cracking bit of kit!

Great advice

It was a while back. It was nice, felt quick but heavy. Only kept it a short time like with all my cars, was mint though will try and find a pic.

That is what i couldn't work out. I know that people abuse them and that the engine could have been fucked, but he was as much of a subaru fanboy as can be really and was obsessed as it was his pride and joy. Plus i know it was properly maintained. I need to go and test drive a few but don't like wasting peoples time so probably never will.

Memory like a fish mate, don't remember. Rocking a version 3 wrx in white. Owned twelve months, says a lot really.

Looks cracking that. Was exactly the same. If it didn't have ppp what power would it be at then? Just asking as his def didn't have 300bhp as i remember thinking that the only models quicker were the WR1 and RB320 and it was around the same power as my actual hero car as a kid, the P1.

I imagine it's like the others have said, depends on which model/bhp etc, I had a run with a bug wrx, upto 120mph f**k all in it, in my 172 cup, I think these days you need one with a good few mods to impress, half the problem is newer cars are pretty quick these days and even in standard form give the older performance cars a good run for there money, making them appear slow by today's standards, f.ck me you need at least 400bhp to tesco's these days! A 280 bhp scoob isn't really that quick anymore, more so newage, from what I gather.

Very true mate. Annoyingly newer cars have become quicker, esp the diesels. I drive different cars all the time in work. My sister is away and left me her audi a3 sport back 2.0tdi Quattro 170bhp thing. Great car and in the real world pedals quickly. It's boring though, nothing rattles and is effortless to drive.

Agree with this, had a blast a while back in my ph1 with a uk turbo classic and was nothing in it, however if he had a classic sti he would of pissed all over me

i have a mate with a mk4 golf gt tdi 190 bhp disposes of civics quite easily, but I'd it's anything like my mk4 was... I'm off to sleep!
