The (very slow) Clio172 project

The primary reason I signed up to this forum was to read as much info I could, for my friend who decided to build an 172 from scratch.

The time is right to present his progress ( I m so jealous )

The car started its life as a simple black Clio2 phase1 1.4 ...

Well, that was a long time ago! It was stripped and sent to the right place for a right rollcage..

This is how it came back, about a month later (yes, he was REALLY slow :S )

Progress is made since then.. I' ll come back for more !

Here is the donor car .

It' s an (half, to be accurate) 172 in silver, which came all the way from France :

The bricks and the crade are ours too

To keep on, the donor Clio172 came with a lot of parts .... They mixed with the existing Clio parts.. What a mesh! :S:S

We then started ordering parts for the build :

Bought 8 Speedline 2118s

4 gold ones and the other 4 were painted like this :

The car is only for track use, so these are the new tyres :

The moter was out and polished.... Also some other parts

and as a gift to it, these were bought ----->

along with new cams (no photos of the yet)

The filter box will remain

But we ordered and received the ITG filter

Also ordered and arrived, the followinf short shift

and these powerflexes for the front

They are numbers 2 and 3 of the following picture

Ok, and you know wht the next part is!

More recently now... My friend was working on the project and I took pictures, being annoying :rasp:

the inside is painted silver and some parts are begining to find the way to the car

The "half 172" started losing parts

The wiring went on (with some cables off, like those of th radio etc etc)

The subframe is sent to powercoding and we will continue as long as it arrives...

Meanwhile this is what we bought :

The Clio is up and running !!
(ok, some parts are missing )

A used set of Kosei K1 wheels was bought, along with a set of 16s Ultraleggeras! Now it is running around in these Canastre wheels from a Clio3 100TCE

We are currently looking for a Jenvey (or KTR) full throtle body kit throttle body kit (even in used condition)
