  Clio 1.2 TCE 08
No more asking questions about remap or coils, its reality i can only afford to do one or the other... i either make my car a bit fast by adding 25 bhp and 30 torque, or i wait for some second hand coilovers to come up.
whats the best thing to do low and slow or high n slow lol

heres how the car stands now
25mm rear spacers
17"alloys
Tints
Induction
custom exhaust
body styling kit
full colour code in january 2012

Coilovers

* Will improve looks which is your main objective
* As a bonus it will also make it a lot more fun in corners.
* I reckon you go round corners more frequently than you floor it through the gears...
* It will make driving more uncomfortable, do you do a lot of miles? (or more importantly do you care? I'm young and I don't care personally but then I'm not the type to "cruise" up and down nor do I think a slammed BMW/Audi is the epitomy of motoring)

Remap

* Will not improve your main objective.
* Will make driving easier (more midrange torque), do you do a lot of miles?
* More exciting when you floor it, how much of the time do you actually floor it?

"Power is nothing without the kit to hold it to the road" is true, but it's taken out of context. We're talking about a 1.2 clio here which has adequete suspension for the sort of power is has. We're not putting 300 BHP through front wheel drive with an LSD on standard suspension on a race track.

TL:DR your car isn't traction limited therefore "power without road holding" is in my opinion not really important. Therefore go with whichever you "want" most, which I'm guessing is coilovers as you like looks.
