Dan where did the swarf come from if it was a new engine with new forged bits fitted.

I take it there would have been no machine work needed?

Thanks for the responses.

It's either getting sold or transported up to RS Tuning for a rebuild, part of me hopes it's the latter. Part thinks I've had such bad luck over the last few years that I should just quit now and accept my loses.

I think it's down to the build as too many things have gone wrong since to be coincidence.

I'm glad I kept the old engine just in case instead of selling it now...

Irony is I did all this because the gearbox needed a rebuild and I didn't want to fit it back into a car with a poorly oil burning engine.

Jesus Christ! Unlucky mate, best of luck with whatever you decide to do with it.

Holy fk, what's going on, everything's falling apart everywhere.
Don't know if I really want my engine back now.

Sh1t times Tim.

Bad times mate. Was always hoping to see this make some good power.
Even just reading your sale ad makes you see the great. Spec and time effort you've put in.
Keeping it would be great but guess another rebuild won't be cheap.
Gutted buddy.

Real shame this Tim!! Any idea on the cause of the failures (other than your mechanical sympathy lol)? Surely you can go after the people in Basingstoke that did the work? Cant imagine it was Fred's crate engine that caused the problem.

Really sad news mate... It sounds like all the problems stem from the garage who your engine. Was any warranty on the work offered?

It's difficult because I supplied all the parts and garage put them all together. I don't want the garage to rectify it as I've lost confidence in them. I'm friends with the garage owner who built the engine as well so don't want to fall out over it

That's why if it's kept it'll be going to RS Tuning then parts, build and mapping a all in one place.

Spec is as follows:

Storm Grey glass out respray including door shuts
Ktec stealth exhaust
Cup alternator setup
Rear wiper delete
Cooksport springs and full suspension refresh with Cup wishbones
182 alloys powdercoated black

I also think it's got cams as it feels similar to Chris' petrol blue. Going to run it at Surrey Rolling Road on Saturday to find out.

  Many.
Only just seen I got tagged.

Yeah I worked on it, well, I looked it over, and found some issues, which Faxo fixed. Its not cammed.
