To coilover or not to coilover

Reet, this months pay is on the horizon. So do i buy some coilovers (thinking FK Highsports/Konigsports) and lower my car, or do i stick with what i have.

Currently the car is sitting on Koni Adjustables paired with Eibach prolines, which gives a good enough ride quality and decent handling. But question is, can the £450-£550 be justified on coilies if its not going to drastically improve the handling. I understand it would be nice to drop it some more, but primarily im interested in the handling/bodyroll of the Highsports.

Perhaps someone who has gone through similar transition could help me decide

If its not coilies this month, then i suppose i'll have to just save for my 172 convertable conversion

they give a hard ride but the body roll / handling improvement is worth the money. i went from spax psx to FK's wouldn't go back

I have heard the FKs haven't got a good ride, which is a shame as the Highsports i had on the 1.2 were excellent, the ride was even better than OEM at -80mm!!

Thing is, the FKs lower more than the H&Rs, which is kind of drawing me in...

How about, organise a group buy you actually take part in?

Ok thanks He-man. I mean i set my Koni's up 3/4 firmness anyway, so im used to that side of things, just wondered if the improvement is that marked.

Could be an idea, but depends on demand i guess. At the moment i dont want to commit to coilies before i get opinion on how good/bad they are because the ride on the Koni's is good, just i was looking at lowering it some more too.

There will be some good suspension offers on premium coilovers - Bilstein and H&R's i believe..!

These are better than the all fks, i personnally will be going from my Koni / sportline to the Bilstein coilovers, placed my order today.

Aye Bilsteins would be very nice, but thats serious amounts of wedge, wedge that i canny justify on a car that upto now hasn't seen track usage. Would be lovely to get some if the price was lower mind, but circa £1200(?) well....ouch!

E-mail him...the rrp price for (non adjustable damping) Billies and H&Rs is about 800 but i know that he will be doing some good deals...

I'm getting H&R's. Unless they start offering a free Dental healthcare plan with the FK's. They may be £200 cheaper, but it'll cost you twice that in dentures once all your teeth have rattled out.
