Hello! I've got a couple small scratches and stone chips around my car. I looked up the part # for the correct color touch-up pen and will be picking that up in a days time from my local Renault Dealer.
Has anyone had any experience in doing their own touch ups that wouldn't mind helping me answer a couple questions?
- If the scratch has gone down to expose the metal (no rust visable) would it be okay to simply use a primer touch up pen, followed by the coloured touch-up pen?
- Once the coloured touch-up pen has been thinly applied to match the level of paint surrounding the scratch/chip do I need to put any sort of clear coat on top?
I recently bought this car and am in the process of fixing the mechanics and will eventually move onto the body/exterior, but haven't got the cash flow at the moment to fix everything. I was worried about possible rust formation from the couple bare metal scratches and wanted to seal them off before this happened. Any advice would be appretiated, cheers.
