Tullers' Silver 182! (Picture Heavy)

Hello everyone,

Long story short I guess. I had a 106 GTi before I bought my 182 (29th June). I decided to get one after I had gone in a friends one and fell in love with them right away! This isn't really a project car, I'd just like to slowly update this thread when I do little bits and bobs to my 182 and would like peoples opinions and feedback really.

So I bought this beauty for £2,700, because I work at Euro Car Parts the place I got it from said if I bought a full service kit they'd carry out the work for free which was a result as a full service kit was £140 and I got it for £69 yay!

Picture time, it's basically standard at the moment, 04 plate with 67,000 miles on the clock.

This is how she stands at the moment, sorry if the pictures aren't amazing.. I have a blackberry ;)

And if anyone was interested in seeing the stuff I did to my GTi, heres the link to my album on facebook of it.

Thank you for reading and will keep people posted on what I do etc; positive feedback is always welcome. :)

Also at the weekend I used my warranty to full advantage and gave my Clio the once over and got the tracking done!

Also my friend wanted to show off his cleaning products and we snowfoamed my Clio also which shined her up lovely! Shame my phone pictures don't do much justice! Haha

Pay day is two weeks away and I'm struggling to know what to do first, my list in no order at all so far is....

Panel Filter, Induction Kit, Lowering Sprints/Coilovers (Roughly 30-35mm), KTec exhaust system,

These are the things I'm looking at mainly to do next, don't know what others think? But advice would be greatly taken :)

End result will be after I've done all the engine mods I want, I shall be re-mapping and putting it on a dyno. Would be nice if anyone can shed any light on the best gains for the 182 also?

Thanks for reading.

Hi mate got a kn panel filter. Less than 1000 miles on it. Boxed as new. 25 quid. I'm only in yeovil as well :)Dave.

Finally got an update for you all, I decided to buy the KTec Supersport system and I got around to fitting it after work today. Sounds really nice, but thinking I need to take my cat out to really fall inlove with it!

It was so easy to fit, lovely job KTec! I'm thinking the next thing to do is lower the car roughly 35mm and also get myself a panel filter.

Thanks for reading, all positive feedback welcome! <3

Nice work mate!

Not sure on the ktec exhaust, welds look pretty poor? (don't know much about welding to be fair)

Haven't posted for a while my bad! So I'll try make this short and sweet! :)

I decided to get myself a decat pipe and got a scorpion 197 decat off a friend for £30, bargain!

I haven't got a picture of it fitted but it's on and sounds so much better. It pops and bangs sometimes which I love, shame it doesn't do it all the time.. But hey-ho!

Also putting the decat on with my massive muscles I accidently broke the centre rubber section and had to get a new one..

Renault wanted £9 for a new one, I told them to suck the D obviously, cheeky look on eBay and got myself one for just £4.99!

Must add, I'm sorry for the poor pictures of these! I blame my crappy blackberry! :)

I then caved in this week as I just got paid and bought myself some lowering springs after looking online at several ones I decided to try my work (Euro Car Parts) and we did Apex ones 40mm and with my discount they were only £50, bloomin' bargain so had to snap them up!

Got them fitted today and the driving experience has improved alot in my opinion, not so boaty/floaty if that makes sense to people.

Here is a picture of the car to give it justice, I think it sits rather nice just over the wheels. Just the way I like it, not into having the archs over the wheels. :)

Thanks for reading and all positive feedback welcome!

I think the next thing to do is to get myself a panel filter, K&N is chavvy but at Euro with my discount it's only £25 so it has to be done! Also a local garage I know will charge me £250 for a remap, so really tempted to get it remapped and dyno'd with next months pay packet!

Cup spoiler is a must. i just got one, makes all the differance

Agreed, not the very top of my list as I'd like to try get more power out of the car before anything now :)

Car looks good mate, how do you find the suspension?

It feels so much better, handles corners alot better than the standard one. Like I said in my post, I got it with my discount at Euro so had to be done. But when putting the springs on I did see both of my top mounts are buggered, so will have to replace them asap!

Just a tiny update, like I said in my previous post I noticed my top struts are knackered when putting the lowering springs on. So lovely old Euro discount helped out and got new ones for £5 each ;) Hah

Also seeing payday is just over a week away and I'm going to get the Clio booked in for a remap I bought myself a BMC panel filter which was only £21 with my discount! Yay!

1240567_10151959369619276_1435295644_n.jpg

Beautiful! So hopefully be able to update you all with my remap and dyno results. Then I'm not 100% sure on what to focus on next... I was thinking new wheels? I'd like peoples suggestions? Ever since I've owned my 106 GTi I always wanted Lenso BSX's, I dunno why just think they look so nice. I was thinking of BBS wheels but I want to buy wheels brand new and at Top Gear in Bridport these will cost me £125 a corner, so a total of £500 without tyres which is bloody good in my opinion.

bsx_black_800x80015.jpg

Then after that I'll be doing small little changes to the car, do people think these wheels will be a good choice? If you think differently, give me suggestions?

Thank you for reading, positive feedback always welcome! Much love <3

Wheels are horrible IMO, wi ruin the looks!

Keep the cup wheels or get something more OEM.

Why would they ruin the look though? If you had a reason behind it ruining it I'm all ears? Also something more OEM as in?

Rather have constructive feedback to be honest. Sigh.. :dapprove:

Just because they are s**t tacky wheels LOL!!!

Get something like Turinis on there and it will look mint. People will look at it and think that's a nice car, rather than boy racer/chav.

All in my opionion of course. If you like them then go ahead and get them, because at the end of the day that's all that matters on YOUR car.

Might look better if they were all silver. Rather than black on chrome :S

I'd never own them though!

Everyone has Turinis wheels though, so why would I be a sheep? And I don't see how they are chavvy at all, but you are so right each to their own and putting people down on their threads is the right way about making me wanna stick with my decision :)

My friend Kellys Clio with Lenso's

Not 100% sure if these are Lenso's but look like it, a local lad near me called Toby... This is his Clio

Thanks for your opinion I guess, but rather have positive opinions not someone coming along saying it will look s**t without even giving a reason.

But enough of that, I think it'll finish my car off lovely.

Got to agree with V800MJH those wheels don't suit the clio, they look better on VAG stuff imho. There is another ph1 sport near me on similar wheels to the ones above and it does not look right.

Nothing wrong with turinis (baa!) but maybe 1.2's or superleggera's or similar? Or even some f1's?

At the end of the day we are all different so go for what you like as its your motor at the end of the day!

Dave.

No offence. But those pictures just confirm my opinion lol.

Put those cars next to this mint silver Clio and the difference is night and day!

Now you can't tell me those cars above look better than the one in that link ;)

Not trying to put you down. Just my opinion. You get opinions when you post pictures online. Some you want to hear some you don't.

All the best :)

Hey Dave, we still haven't met up for a chinwag - has to be done soon. And I am not interested in those kind of wheels, everyone has them.. Probably why I don't like them as much as the Lenso's.
